Role Overview

As a Sushi Commis, you will be an essential part of our kitchen team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to begin their culinary career in sushi-making and learn from skilled chefs. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of sushi ingredients, including vegetables, seafood, rice, and sauces.
• Support chefs in creating sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.
• Ensure a clean and organized workstation, complying with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Learn and follow sushi preparation techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
• Participate in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and ensuring fresh ingredients are readily available.
• Assist with the presentation of dishes to ensure a beautiful and appetizing plate.
• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in sushi and Japanese cuisine.
• Prior experience in a kitchen environment is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
